The first project had gotten me excited for the second one. This time, it was a case study yet again, but in the form of both group work and also individual. Carried on from the first assignment, we were supposed to compare landscapes of a foreign country and our own again, but this time, suggest sustainable improvements and alternatives to our local landscape. Our research was to be shown on presentation boards yet again, but the little twist to this assignment was also a individual component: a booklet on sustainable improvements based on a type of selected landscape in our site. Below is the project brief.
BRIEF CL P2 Sustainable Landscape from suehwa533
Almost immediately after this assignment brief was given, I had formed a team with 6 other course mates. As I recall, we were a rather jovial and loud one, always fun to be with: Samantha, Nurin, Aida, Hazmi, Nik and Razin. For both locations, we had to draw lots just like everyone else. The end result was Amsterdam and KL Sentral.
As the lecturers recommended, our group arranged for a site visit to KL Sentral. The purpose of this was to determine the actual area in our five-kilometre radius, the central point being the train station. We visited each landscape that we could find present in the list, such as the Klang River, KL Birdpark and KLCC's jungle gym playgrounds. Even though not all our members could make it, we undoubtedly had a enjoyable trip, taking photos and useful notes for the project.
After the site visit, we delegated tasks among ourselves. Nurin and Aida were in charge of researching information, while Sam and I took lead of the board. The three boys drew the map for the second board and helped out with board constructing. For the 'improvements', each of us suggested one each, with proper research and a drawing.

Not forgetting the individual booklet that had to be submitted on the same day: the type of landscape I selected was public markets, namely, Little India. Below are the pages of my booklet.

During the day of the final presentation, our boards were selected as one of the best designed and effective ones, which uplifted our spirits :) . It was a great experience working with the group!
