Interior design - photo

The second project was much less conventional, in fact, one of my favourite experiences throughout the sem. We got a taste of the real construction world, from a learner's point of view. As described in the brief, we were given a role in the industry such as landscape architects and engineers to interview and analyse. Thereafter, we had to create a short video of the event and also to include our understanding creatively in the video, besides submitting a individual booklet or magazine on what we had learnt. Below is the project brief.

As usual, the frantic group-hunting session began! Unlike many projects, I was recruited into a group of boys that consisted of Tristan, Roy, Jian Ru and Yu Jing. As chance would have it, we were given the role interior designer. As soon as we could, we contacted and set up and appointment date with a small interior design firm that was introduced to us by my father, as he engages them for projects now and then (he works as a real estate agent). Thus, I took charge of dealing and speaking with the firm by phone for our interview. Before the interview, we delegated ourselves to different tasks such as Tristan and Roy would take care of filming and photos, whereas Yu Jing and I conducted the interview, and Jian Ru recorded the details. Here are some happy photos of our interview :)

Here is our interview video! We had a lot of fun filming and thinking of new techniques (filmed and edited by Roy, assisted by Tristan).

Not forgetting the individual booklet, everyone agreed on working together for that too as Tristan and Roy handled the video part. Thus, Jian Ru, Yu Jing and I discovered the relevant subtopics and did individual research for elaboration on the interview we conducted as well. In the end, we posted it on our Facebook group page so everyone in our team could share it to complete their own booklet. It was a good thing to be able to help each other out.

Below are the pages of  my booklet. Made using Power point, I had put effort into the visual layout as well as the content to make it more attractive.

I had good fun working with them for this assignment :) and learnt from them as well. I realised that having video editing skills would come in handy and made up my mind to learn about it soon. Kudos to us!
