AN INTRO

ITD - P.1 Drawings

Olympic Archery Barcelona Plan, 1989

Introduction to Drawing is probably my most long-awaited subject when we first started the semester. For some reason, I thought it was going to be relaxing (haha).

For our first assignment, we were required to do something elementary, that is a power point presentation on on one of the following types of drawings, such as architectural drawings, engineering drawings, etc.. Even though we had yet to start drawing in this first project, it was supposed to expose us some drawing knowledge. Below is the project brief.

Being one of our first group projects, we were all excited getting to know one another better. I teamed up with Anna, Pei Kei, Claudwie, Yincy and Aqila on this one. We first selected the topic Landscape Drawings, and divided the presentation content all ways, into further sub-topics. After which we did research individually and compiled our content. Towards the end, Anna compiled all our works into one smooth and identical system of slides.

Below are the slides of the presentation (compiled and edited by Anna).

On presentation day, Anna and I were in charge, and divided the content evenly to present in front of the whole class and to be assessed by lecturers. In my opinion, we had clear content but way too many slides, so we had to speed up our talk unnaturally. Even though we exceeded the time limit, we pulled it off, mostly.

Lessons learnt: everyone must do their own complete and sufficient research, in order for editing to be made simpler. Also, we will next time start preparing for the presentation earlier to avoid any more fumbles and last-minute error. In short, I learned a lot from this first assignment which I will carry on to the next: it was a good experience.
