AN INTRO

DESIGN - AN INTRODUCTION

Design elements and principles

Design - but broken down into its bits, pieces, components. The smaller details that make the bigger picture. Led by the head lecturer, Ms Delliya Mohd Zain, or Ms Dee, as we called her. it was a well-planned out module that encompassed a series of guided projects. Heavy as they were, packed with millions of tasks and teamwork, it was the module that will probably stay in our mind for years to come. The only directly-architectural subject in Semester 2 as compared to Semester 1, we were made to work hard and keep up with weekly tutorials and progress updates, no matter group or individual. The other tutors, Mr Fariz and Ms Sufina keep up to the set expectations as well.

Lectures were always jam-packed with useful information that helped immensely in whatever current project we were working on. The three tutors take turns presenting their individually-made slides from their own point of view and experience. It was interesting and diverse like that. Tutorials were roughly the same, seeking guidance and advice on what the next step in a project is helped us determine direction and expectations from each tutor. In this module, research, understanding and applying basic design elements and principles were key.

Learning to work with an array of teams, besides communicating with the tutors efficiently, we created works of art and thought in this Semester. Truly thought-provoking and challenging we learnt to love design for what it was and carry that on to degree.
