AN INTRO

BUSINESS - CLASS ACTIVITIES

Innovative packaging and advertising - one of  my favourite things about business.

Besides graded assignments, business classes were saturated with in-class activities next to weekly lectures and tutorials. The point of these drills were to instil a deeper understanding of each current topic we were trying to learn. Applying hands-on practice made us look deeper and clearer into each smaller aspect of business until we could piece them all together to apprehend this subject better.

Analysing business ethics were a first for us. The class was separated into several groups according to each subtopic and we were supposed to come up with a brief presentation after half and hour of research and discussion. We were allowed to use slides and videos to make our presentation more effective. I was grouped with Tristan, MJ, Jia Hui, Pei Kei and Nurin.

In a jiffy and after a short discussion, the team sent information regarding our theme, 'Investment Scams/ to MJ for him to compile into a slideshow, while the rest of us searched up a suitable video on YouTube. Below are the slides and presentation video:

Another sort of class exercise we carried out a few more classes later was to do with hierarchy and order in a business - namely to create an organizational chart. Seated in the same group as that for the year-end business charity drive project, it was also part of task delegation that we would have to settle anyway. Each group also received a type of business to base the chart on, ours being a recording company, named 2Fab4U. After a bit of research and deliberation among ourselves, we drew out a complete and detailed chart on the mahjong paper provided. See below:

These class workouts were enlightening and fun-filled, keeping us on our toes with the lessons. Interaction between everyone made me realize that this was how a real class should be conducted. I thoroughly enjoyed learning business.
