AN INTRO

EPC - P.2. > MURAL ART

Wynwood Art District, Miami.
The second project involved travelling and sightseeing as well. Similar to the first, this one involved direct analysis and application of effective public communication concepts. Everyone's topic was the same: mural art. Only locations differed though. Below is the brief:

Forming a group quickly, we again recruited several skilled assets, that being Amos (again), Anna, Shi-Ko, Kayla and myself. Although we had an option to explore anywhere in the country for unique street art pieces or installations, we decided to go simple and focus on the ones in town, namely narrowed down to those in Shah Alam. Anna, the master of research herself, found a recently popularised hotspot where hippy street art have a permanent place on the walls of a few common shop lots : Laman Seni 7, a designated outdoor museum. Calling again for a half-day-trip, that's what we embarked on! Here are a few of our photos:

Colourful meaning. That's the backbone behind every mural

Simple favourites: Mango.

A altogether unique medley of recyclable cutlery spray-painted.

Laman Seni was a cool place. A long, winding alleyway made beautiful by mural paintings and installations every 2 feet, each with their own plaque explaining the meaning behind it and other basic information. That was very helpful, as we had to collect data about the background and symbolism of the artworks we wanted to compare. Taking tons of photos, selfies and other whatnot with most of them, we spent an artsy two hours just wandering around.

Getting back, we met up several times to make the presentation slides together. We would each take charge of each section and analyse, research and filter information about it that we'd like to present. It was understood that we'd be presenting the part that we contributed to. Lastly, Anna edited the slides to be unified and reflective of our group's strong identity, so that even though several other groups were using the same artworks or venues, we would stand out more so comparably. With a one-time rehearsal before, we presented in front of class and Ms Lojana rather confidently: it was well-done. Below are a close-up of our slides and the presentation video. Enjoy!

A simple assignment accomplished. We were smart, fun people on the road to discover more. That made all the difference,
