AN INTRO

SOCIAL PSYCH - FINAL P. > VIDEO PRESENTATION

The very thing that kept flowing from our brains to succeed this project.

The ultimate highlight of a Sem of Social Psychology - representing concepts through a video. In a group, we were required to portray another five concepts from five different chapters in a three to five minute video plus a short presentation complete with slides to explain our clip to the class. What really made the difference between the degree of difficulty in this assignment and the previous ones was the need for a detailed written report that documented the process, application and relation of our video to the concepts. See brief below:

The first issue before we could proceed to video filming was a storyline plot that acted as a theme to explain all our 5 concepts across to an audience evidently. It took a few meetings and many discussions before we stumbled on the subject of infatuation, love and chemistry. So we then settled on developing a story based on Attraction: Chasing Chemistry, our title and concept.

Like the last project, job delegation was once again on spot. Having Yen Min, Yu Jing and Razin in a team for a video presentation really made it work, being one that excels in the presence of inspiring peeps, Yen Min was a amateur videographer and editor, settling a major part of the project efficiently. While Yu Jing and Razin worked on the extracted presentation slides, I elaborated most of the report on my own with Yen Min's help as well.

Through a span of a couple of weeks, we had it all covered. After a total of around half a day of video filming in campus, we had gotten even closer as a team. Incredible impromptu adjustments and improvements from each one of us to video filming techniques and angles made it a satisfaction as a job well done, besides being an accomplishment. Filled with jokes, laughter and funny moments on and off camera proved a job well done in the video below. Watch, you will not regret it.

This video which took us only half a day to film and another to edit it, was professionally and beautifully done in my opinion. Most credits to Yen Min for the dramatic but hilarious editing and Yu Jing for ideas. Each of us had a designated and significant role to play, which made it even more outstanding. Much heart was put into this piece of visual work along with creative ideas along the way, never stopping until it was to our exact taste.

In terms of the report, I took nearly a day of settling down comfortably with more comforting drinks to phrase a properly written document with the right subtopics. Referring to senior's past works and facts and figures from internet sources, I proudly present a rather detailed report on the process and implementation of filming our video titled Attraction: Chasing Chemistry. Zoned down specifically to every scene of the video and the concept explanation, I tried to clearly demonstrate our understanding of the topics. In here, any details regarding our expression of these five concepts are documented.

Lastly, Yu Jing also made our presentation slides in a jiffy, extracting information regarding each scene to be presented to the class on submission day. Including definitions and photos, we also discussed on a rough  flow and script to follow during the presentation. Here's a copy:

The satisfaction of making everyone crack up and cheer to the ridiculous ending of our video was worth all the time and effort spent. Working with equally enthusiastic, determined and energetic friends made me enjoy this process to the fullest. I am glad to say we successfully made it to the top of our own list by creating happy history - achieving a high grade, and a higher form of bond between us. Exploring our creativity in conveying realistic messages through a video medium was a great way in exposing our hidden talents, accompanied with other components.

Thanks for the memories, guys.
