AN INTRO

SOCIAL PSYCH - P.1 > JOURNALS

Journals - a personal medium of expression.

Our first ever Psychology assignment - a serious yet creative individual project. As briefed for the first time by our lecturer, Mr Shankar, we were required to write a series of five journals in the context of Social Psychology and the lessons we had learnt in class. Seemingly ordinary, we were in for a seriously expressive assignment, which we were not used to. But that's what psychology is for eh? To share. Brief below:

Out of all 10 chapters we have gleaned from lectures all Semester round, we had to craft two entries, each a page write-up regarding a selected concept from any ten chapters which also related our personal experience. Including legit facts and research to support our reasons of course, and any comic strips or photos. My journal topics as below:

Journal 1-Social Psychology
Entry 1: Confirmation Bias
Entry 2: Social Facilitation

Journal 2-The Self
Entry 1: The Self-Discrepancy Theory
Entry 2: The False Consensus Effect

Journal 3-Social Cognition
Entry 1: Optimism Bias
Entry 2: Stereotyping

Journal 4- Social Perception
Entry 1: Halo Effect
Entry 2: Primacy and Recency Effect

Journal 5- Attitudes
Entry 1: Post-Decision Dissonance
Entry 2: Attitudes and Behaviour

If you'd like to read my journals in detail, please check it out below. Written with as much enthusiasm and memory recollection as I could muster:

I had a good time in analysing my opinions and feelings in detail in conjunction with understanding each social psychology concept. Naturally expressive, putting my experiences and thoughts down on paper was enjoyable!
